Cake Six - Thomas the Tank Engine

Michels 2nd Birthday Cake. Thomas' face wanted to fall off. Frustrating. He thought it was great.
As a note in hind sight i should have put a #2 on Thomas in honor of the birthday boy. ( I am sure Thomas wouldn't have minded) This is NOT my favorite cake, it took the approach if something can go wrong it will, and I learned a few things...

Cake Five - Arrghh.. The Pirates are coming.

Camerons 4th birthday and he likes Pirates. If you have kids and want a fun book Henry and the Buccaneer Bunnies by Carolyn Crimi is Great. So heres the cake. again all edible (except the pirates chest candle, cant imagine it tastes good though just parifin. The sails are mde out of Philo Dough and NOT fun to work with for this application.

Cake Four - The JEEP Cj5

So the Jeep, where to begin. This was a full out mission for my husbands 40th birthday. It is a cake copy of his first jeep, and a not too bad job if i do say so myself. I had 2 pictures of that old jeep and had to do research for the rest. this cake took a month to do. Everything is edible and things like the fender flairs, roll bars, and seats all had to be made in duplicate and dried. also it was all done while my kids napped and husband was at work, as it was a surprise. The windshield is hardcandy and the tires are doughnuts covered in fondant.

Cake Three - FONDANT... oh sweet fondant

Michel was born a year ago. Now it is his turn for a cake. I wanted to use fondant. Don't like the taste of (and am too cheap to buy) comercial fondant. So i found a recipe on line (gotta love Google!) and Shazam... I made this little sweetheart. The bear is a wilton bear pan. This was the beginning of the end for me. I found that i like.... no love to work with this wonderful, smooth, sweet dough like frosting.

Cake Two - Rocket

This is Camerons 3rd Birthday Cake. We love the Little Einsteins. This is my first attempt at a sculpted cake without the aid of a sculpted pan. Who knew this would be the start of something 'big'. Sorry made me think of a song there.

Cake One - Just cant do the 9 x 13 thing..

This is Elmo... Cameron Loved Elmo this was for his Second Birthday. I am sure he had a cake for his first birthday i just can't put my finger on it right now... So we will start with Elmo.
